Department of pediatric surgery, Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University, was founded in 2010. Under the leadership of Chen Xiao Bin，director of the department，after years of continuous efforts ，it has developed into a sound unit with medical service，teaching and scientific research，enjoying a good reputation in Xiamen even in the district of southern Fujian.

The department is located in ward of general-pediatric ,floor 17, building 1,with22beds,including 3beds in intensive care unit available. The medical team is made up of 1 director,2 vice-directors,1 attending doctor,2resident doctors, 4 of them postgraduate, and several skilled and enthusiastic nurses.

Since its establishment, the medical service provided by the department has been based on the field of pediatric general surgery and pediatric urinary surgnery, involving in pediatric cervix and thoracic surgery, pediatric orthopedics surgery and neonatal , etc. Abundant experience about children hernia , hydrocele of tunica vaginalis, phimosis and acute abdomen has been accumulated, and at the same time ,the treatment of compressive diseases such as congenital megacolon , congenital cyst of common bileduct , anal atresia, hypospadias have been conducted. A plenty of elaborate instrument and equipment specially designed for kids has enabled us to apply minimally invasive new technique in children. Prominent achievement in the field of routine pediatric laparoscope surgery ,such as pediatric laparoscopic hernia surgery，laparoscopic appendectomy and  intensive pediatric laparoscope surgery, such as laparoscopic surgery for congenital megacolon，laparoscopic resection of abdominal tumor in children ，laparoscopic surgery for congenital cyst of common bileduct has been made.

The medical team has been zealously providing qualified healthcare in a scientific and pragmatic style，and all effors were recognized by patients and counterparts in medical area.  In 2016，pretigious glory “Youth Civilization Unit of Xiamen City” was received as spearhead in our surgery system，soon in 2017 ，next honor “JINGUO Civilization Unit ”was rewarded.
