The department of Pediatrics has 90 designated beds with a number of 25 doctors, among them 13 have senior professional titles, 1 has PhD degree, 11 have Master Degree. After years of development the department has become a department for clinical care, teaching and research. The faculty of the department has been formed with 2 wards equipped with sophisticated medical facilities, 6 sub-specialist clinics: respiratory, neurology, kidney, infection, endocrinology and neonatal. Progress was made in the diagnosis and treatment of airway diseases with fiber-bronchoscopy since 2014. The numbers of outpatient visit, inpatients hospitalization have kept increasing every year. In 2016, the total number of outpatients and emergency patients reaching 12,000 plus, the number of inpatients reaching 5000 plus. The faculty has obtained 2 programs by Provincial Natural Science Fund of Fujian and more municipal research programs by Xiamen Science And Technology Bureau, more than 30 papers published in academic journal covered by SCI.
